COVID-19 Protocol & Travel Advisory - Tanzania

All passengers are required to present a valid vaccination certificate with a QR code upon arrival. Travelers who are not fully vaccinated or unvaccinated must present a negative result from a PCR COVID-19 test or Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) taken within 72 hours before arrival. All passengers are subject to health screening on arrival, such as temperature checks and visual assessment. Further health testing may be required for those displaying symptoms of COVID-19.

International Travel Restrictions

All incoming passengers must complete and submit an online Traveller’s Surveillance Form (https://afyamsafiri.moh.go.tz/) within 24 hours before arrival. Passengers who are not fully vaccinated or unvaccinated will be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival. Arrivals without a valid test certificate may be administered an RT-PCR test on arrival, at the cost of $100 USD.

On return - Vaccinations and vaccinated travel

Travelers who present a valid certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, are exempt from pre-departure testing requirements. Negative RT-PCR test result may be required for unvaccinated.

Advice

Follow all official instructions. Reconfirm all travel arrangements before departure, including possible self-isolation requirements. Maintain contact with your diplomatic representation. Consider delaying travel if showing COVID-19-like symptoms as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays.
